Today i am a chef

I invited chibi over and decided to cook my family dinner last night in my 2nd attempt to make some sushi and other stuff. I have read many books and articles online and I figured the key to success is to find the right ingredients, everything else comes after. That means you dont mix eggs with chinese soy sauce or pour white vinegar on the rice =P.

Thanks to Aunty May’s help, we were very we very well prepared and purchased all the necessary ingredients (kombu, mirin, dashi, japanese dressing, takoyaki sauce etc.)

My auntie was responcible for making the ultra yummy Takoyaki and Salad, while Me with special assistance Chibi-chwan did the sushi (but she kept eating while making, by the time we were eating she was a bit full already =P), sashimi and tamagoyaki. Speaking of Tamagoyaki, it is like my ‘xxxx’ time failed to make it properly, its so hard! the eggs just go all over the place. However, this time was probably the best it has ever turned out, so getting there =). The sushi and salmon onigiri were sensational though, but bit more taste couldve helped.

All in all it was good cooking experience, and like my usual saying “next time I will do better!”, Im going to try again next time =)
